He Gets Us Presents Jon Batiste's Love Riot

Jon Batiste Inc.

Music and community came together as Jon Batiste and He Gets Us hosted the first-ever Love Riot Festival in New Orleans’ 9th Ward on February 8, 2025. Held the day before Batiste’s Super Bowl LIX National Anthem performance, the free festival celebrated unity, resilience, and service, offering attendees live music, free meals, and community support services.

Batiste delivered a high-energy, two-hour set, joined by Ledisi, Dee-1, TBC Brass Band, Flavor Flav, and more. The festival’s highlight came as Batiste and Ledisi performed “Come Together”, just one day before their Super Bowl pregame performances. The event closed with a powerful Love Riot march, honoring the 9th Ward’s second-line tradition and the community’s perseverance in the face of past challenges.

“We created this moment of selfless love through music to uplift people’s lives,” said Batiste. “New Orleans’ resilience makes it the best place on Earth.”

The festival, supported by local farmers, Giving Hope Foundation, and Thrive New Orleans, provided free food and groceries to families and students. He Gets Us also introduced its “What Is Greatness?” campaign, emphasizing Jesus’ message of service over status, which will be featured in a Super Bowl commercial.
