Ford: Live From Detroit, The Concert at Michigan Central

Ford Motor Company and Michigan Central welcomed Detroit and the world back to Michigan Central Station with an epic opening night concert, transforming the once-abandoned landmark into a beacon of revival. The June 2024 event, exclusively live-streamed on Peacock, was co-produced by Jonathan Azu in partnership with Killian + Company and featured an all-star lineup of musical talent.
After standing vacant for 34 years, Michigan Central Station, once a symbol of Detroit’s decline, was restored following Ford’s acquisition in 2018. Over six years, more than 3,100 skilled-trades people dedicated 1.7 million hours to its transformation, proving skeptics wrong and reviving a piece of the city’s legacy.
The celebration drew a sell-out crowd of 20,000 to the front lawn of the station, with thousands more gathered at watch parties across the city. Bill Ford Jr. opened the show, reflecting on the station’s past and its future as a hub for innovation and community collaboration.
The night’s performances showcased Michigan’s rich musical heritage, featuring Diana Ross, Big Sean, Jack White, and a surprise finale by Eminem, who delivered an electrifying set, including his latest release, “Houdini”.
