Michelle Williams is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, actress, author, and mental health advocate. She gained prominence as a member of Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling female groups of all time. Beyond her music career, Williams has made significant strides in theater, starring in productions such as “Aida,” “The Color Purple,” “Chicago,” “Fela!,” and “Once on This Island.”
In 2024, Williams took on the role of Viola Van Horn in the Broadway musical adaptation of “Death Becomes Her,” which premiered at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Her performance was noted for its energy and commitment, contributing to the show’s success. The production received positive reviews, with The Guardian describing it as a “dazzling Broadway rebirth.” 
Williams’s dedication to mental health advocacy is evident through her memoir, “Checking In: How Getting Real About Depression Saved My Life—and Can Save Yours,” and its accompanying podcast. She openly shares her experiences to inspire others facing similar challenges.
Her return to Broadway was met with support from her Destiny’s Child bandmates, Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, who attended the opening night of “Death Becomes Her.” This reunion underscored the enduring bond between the group members.
